"It is What it is (Unless it isn't): New works by Janet Chaffee and Benito Huerta,"

The exhibition will explore the physical and psychological boundaries of the living and working spaces of the two artists. They will utilize personal visual vocabulary and intertwine it with architectural materials and plans that are integral to their residencies and working studios. The majority of the new work created for this exhibition will be the first time the artists, who are married to each other, will have worked collaboratively.

The Road: A Photographic Journey

Billy Stone describes his panoramic photographs as "encounters of inspiring scenes along the various highways and side roads on his cherished road trips to New Mexico," where he grew up.  Stone recorded panoramic photos primarily for his own enjoyment as well as the enjoyment of others.  Stone chose to present the panoramas with nonlinear edges and black surround.  "I embrace the notion that these scenes are being viewed through an opening in the fabric of space created magically by combining the properties of camera, computer and the photographer, me."  Stone uses digital photography software to seamlessly stitch multiple exposures together into a single, much larger photograph.

Jill Johnson, Fort Worth based freelance photographer, has included images from her series, Tru-Vue. "This series of images on the back roads of the West Texas Panhandle was captured on a Hasselblad using 120 film. It frames a fading Americana and offers a snapshot of the simple beauty in the barren horizons, deserted streets, and the minimal relics of the past" says Johnson. For more than a decade was is an award-winning photographer for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. Her creative and artistic images made the book, Glamourpuss the Enchanting World of Kitty Wigs (now in its 4th printing) a smash success.

Artspace111 is introducing THE SALON, a space for emerging artists to display their work alongside the more established  Artspace111 artist. In conjunction with The Road, THE SALON is featuring photographer Alan Garcia.

Jo LeMay Rutledge at National Western Stock Show in Colorado

Artist Jo LeMay Rutledge will have artwork featured in the Coors Western Art Exhibit and Sale in Denver, Colorado beginning January 8, 2011. The Coors Western Art Exhibit and Sale is part of the National Western Stock Show and runs through January 23, 2011. The exhibit will open with a Red Carpet Reception held on Wednesday, January 5, 2011. 

In other exciting news, Rutledge was recently accepted to become a new member of the International Guild of Realism.

AC-X: Ten Years in the Art Corridor

The exhibit is a survey of artists exhibited in the Art Corridor Gallery in the past decade.

Carol Benson, Dan Blagg, Brian Fridge, John Frost, John Hartley, Benito Huerta, Nancy Lamb, Devon Nowlin and Cam Schoepp. 

 

This exhibit will be the first time all of these artists have come together for one exhibit.

It will feature sculptures, videos, drawings and paintings including recent works by Hunting Prize candidates Carol Benson and John Hartley.

Opening reception: Thursday November 11, 5-7:30 pm.
